چکیده

The study aims to identify phylogenetic groups and antibiotic susceptibility of poultry Escherichia coli (APEC) isolates. E. was phenotypically biochemically characterized. Isolates from 8/30 (26.66%) liver, 7/30 (23.33%) heart, 4/30 (13.33%) spleen 37-42 days old vaccinated broiler chickens were assessed. Then the isolates (19/90; 21.11%) phylogrouped by quadruplex genotyping based on presence or absence arpA, chuA, yjaA genes, TspE4.C2 DNA fragment. The majority APEC strains belonged group C, followed A, E, F. Phylogroup C observed in phylogroup A both liver heart samples, E spleen, F liver. highest resistance Amoxicillin-Clavulanic acid Ampicillin (100%) predominantly according antibacterial tests. Multiple (MDR) for also found at 68.42% (13/19). Of 19 tested, only 13 (68%) susceptible high levels gentamicin. belonging phylogroups are epidemiological importance broilers. It would be beneficial investigate new performing more detailed genotypic analyzes strains.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of antimicrobial susceptibility of avian pathogenic Escherichia coli isolated from broiler chickens

Aim Avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) is pathogenic strains of E. coli that are responsible for one of the most common bacterial diseases affecting poultry worldwide. This study was designed to determine the occurrence, antibiotic resistance profile, and antibiotic resistance genes of E. coli isolated from diseased and freshly dead broilers. Materials and Methods In that context, a tot...

Phylogenetic analysis of Escherichia coli strains isolated from human samples

Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a normal inhabitant of the gastrointestinal tract of vertebrates, including humans. Phylogenetic analysis has shown that E. coli is composed of four main phylogenetic groups (A, B1, B2 and D). Group A and B1 are generally associated with commensals, whereas group B2 is associated with extra-intestinal pathotypes. Most enteropathogenic isolates, however, are assigne...

Phylogenetic typing and molecular detection of virulence factors of avian pathogenic Escherichia coli isolated from colibacillosis cases in Japanese quail

Colibacillosis caused by avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) is an economic threat to the poultry industry throughout the world. Some of the virulence genes may enhance the ability of E. coli isolates to grow in the tissues of broilers. The APEC strains are assigned to a few distinct phylogenetic groups. The purpose of the present study was to detect the virulence genes a...

Antibiotic Resistance Pattern of Different Escherichia coli Phylogenetic Groups Isolated from Human Urinary Tract Infection and Avian Colibacillosis

Background: The emergence and propagation of different phylogenetic groups of antimicrobial-resistant E. coli have become a worldwide health concern in human and veterinary medicine. Therefore, the evaluation of the phylogenetic distribution of antibiotic-resistant E. coli is important for therapeutic and economic purposes. The aims of this study were to determine phylogenetic groups and patter...

Antibiotic susceptibility assessment of Escherichia coli isolated from traditional cheeses in Marand, Iran

Background and Aim: Dairy products, especially cheese, are a suitable environment for the growth of pathogenic bacteria that cause disease after being transmitted to humans. Escherichia coli is one of the microbial agents in traditional cheese that causes human disease. The aim of this study was to evaluate the contamination rate of traditional cheeses with E.coli and to determine their antibio...
